Made of the finest quality, full grain russet cowhide. Pencil and scale pockets are durable calfskin. All stitching is heavy waxed polyester cord. Strain points are smooth cap riveted. Two 3" belt loops riveted on back hold case securely in place without rocking. The belt loop setting on wide centers allows any desired belt set to conform with body contour. Leather divider between book pouch and back cover provides space for flat items. Scale pockets receive scales 1 1/2" wide, while separated bands make removal easy. Cover flap is cut long enough to protect front panel contents. Billet adjusts to allow for some variation in book length.
This case is made to specifications of the USGS, with additional utility and service features. Inside divider is special shape molded to give 1/4" thickness capacity next to back panel. Inside dimensions of book pouch is 8 1/2" x 5 3/4" x 3/4" for DI-6 and similar size books. Front panel has 3 pencil loops and 2 scale pockets for boxwood or C-thru. Loops and scale pockets are heavy calfskin with double stitching around the outside edges and rivets on lower corners. Flap is secured with lift-the-dot fastener, for positive locking. Not adjustable for longer books. |
